ROBERT LEE SMITH

             Robert Lee Smith, age 48 of Palatka, passed away, July 14, 2010 at home following an extended illness.  A native of Daytona Beach, Florida, Robert had lived in Palatka for the past 29 years, coming from Thomasville, Georgia.  He had worked for the City of Jacksonville with the Water Department as a heavy equipment operator and pipe fitter for 21 years.  Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Marton Smith, his father, Robert B. Smith, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC, children, Sarah Smith of Palatka, Waylon Smith of Palatka and Rainy Smith of Palatka, a sister, Michelle Argo of Destin, FL, 2 brothers, David Smith of Moultrie, GA and William Smith of Rock Hill, SC, 2 grandchildren, Mechelle Isaac and Hannah Marie and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
