JANET M. JERNIGAN 

             Janet M. Jernigan, age 66, of Palatka, died Saturday March 6, 2010 at Putnam Community Medical Center after a short illness.  She was a native of Kane, Pennsylvania and had lived in Palatka since 1957, coming from Kane.  She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.  She was an avid Rusty Wallace NASCAR fan.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Olly Jernigan and her father, Tom Garris.

     She is survived by a son, Olly Scott Jernigan of Jacksonville; 3 daughters, Teresa Gunter of Claxton, Georgia, Lisa White and Lesley Jernigan, both of Palatka; her mother, Flo Garris of Palatka; sister, Donna Garris Smith of Gainesville, and 8 grandchildren.

 Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 9th at Oak Hill  Cemetery with Bro. Carl Christensen officiating.  Friends may call Tuesday from Noon to 1:30 P.M. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
