Uncle Van and my Father were law students on the GI Bill at UM.  They were fraternity brothers and later, partners in their Law Firm. I attended their graduation. Uncle Van's Aunt Annette Gipson Magoffin, an aviatrix who flew with Amelia Earhart, was a client of my Father's and her children and I attended school together.  Uncle Van was a scholar, an orator, and a gentleman.  After my parents deaths, he was especially there for my children and me.  He was invited to and attended all School, College, Post Grad graduations and marriage of my children.  We were his family and he was very proud of my children's' accomplishments.
After moving from his beloved Miami, we visited him in Interlachen.
I never heard him utter a bad word about anyone or anything!
This southern gentleman is in heaven!
