DAVID C. BARTON 

            David C. Barton, age 84 of Palatka, passed away, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Palatka Health Care Center following an extended illness.  A native of Vanwood, West Virginia, he had lived in Palatka since 1970 coming from West Virginia. He worked 14 years with the Florida Mining and Materials Company in Ocala and prior to moving to Palatka, he had owned and operated an upholstery business in West Virginia.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII. 

            David was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ryals Barton and a daughter, Sarah Barton.

            He is survived by his care-givers, Melba and George Knowles of Palatka and numerous friends who will miss him greatly. 

            Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Oak Hill West Cemetery with Rev. Wes Taylor officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:30 P.M. till 1:30 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.

            Flowers are gratefully accepted or memorial donations may be made to Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Florida 32177.
