MARTHA I. TODD Martha I. Todd, age 82, of Palatka, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2010 at Putnam Community Medical Center. She was born on December 10, 1927 to Frank & Lucy Strickland in Conway, South Carolina. She moved to Florida in 1951 with her husband, Edgar Todd, first living in Miami and then relocating to Palatka in 1972. Martha was a devoted homemaker and she was an excellent cook. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church where she regularly assisted in the kitchen preparing food for Psalty Summer Music Camp and Vacation Bible School. She very much enjoyed attending the Ladies Bible Study and singing in the Senior Adult Choir. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Edgar Todd and 3 brothers, Earl Strickland, Pierce Strickland, and Gibson Strickland She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn & Skeet Alford of Hollister; son, Daniel Todd of Umatilla; 6 grandchildren, LTJG Natalie Alford of San Diego, California, Cricket Alford of Pensacola, Sarah Todd, Matthew Todd, Bonnie Todd, and Jake Todd, all of Umatilla and her caregiver and friend, Harriet Sweat of Palatka.. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday January 17th at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Rev. Barry Beauchamp officiating. Private family burial will follow at Palatka Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka. |
