LOIS A. FLOYD Lois A. Floyd, age 73, of Palatka, died Tuesday December 22, 2009 at her home after an extended illness. She was a native of Freehold, New Jersey and had lived in Palatka for the past 16 years, coming from Maryland. She had worked for 30 years as an executive secretary for the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. and for 13 years at Raytheon in Washington. She loved to read and was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Floyd and her son, George Rose. She is survived by cousins, Betty Falch and Shirley Buchanan, both of Palatka, Ann Ruffin of Memphis, Tennessee, Judy Hancock of Ormond Beach, and Steve Hammerstone of Chickamauga, Georgia; special friends, Kenny Nicholson and Rebecca Branco, both of Palatka; and her sister, Gail Henley. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday December 29th at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery. No calling hours are planned. |
