DOROTHY A. McLEOD 

  Dorothy A. McLeod, age 89 of Atlanta, Georgia and formerly of Palatka, passed away, Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.  She was a native of Palatka and lifelong resident of Palatka until ill health forced her to move to Atlanta in 2004.  She had attended Central Academy and had worked for 20 years as a machine operator at Hudson Pulp and Paper Company.  She was a member of the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Palatka, and many years ago, was a member of the Elk’s Lodge.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and had made many afghans for various family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Egbert Pappy and Rosamond Bell Pappy, her husband, Roger McLeod and a step-grandson, Rickey.

She is survived by a daughter, Sara McMillian and husband, Randy, a son, Roger McLeod and wife, Cheryl, 7 grandchildren, Cynthia, Randi, Rosamond, Roger and wife, JoAnn, Renee, Reginald and Randall, step-grandchildren, Kelley and husband, Mike and Richey, great-grandchildren, Rickey, Brittney, Shai, Gabrielle, Danielle, Courtney and Raya, step-great-grandchildren, Trey, Karley and Azalea, great-great-grandchild, Grayson, 2 sisters-in-law, Ethel Pappy and Adele Pappy, a niece, Rosamond, a nephew, Adlai and several cousins, other relatives and many friends. 

Services will be 2:00 Pm, Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Reverend Johnny Maurice Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at WestView Cemetery in Palatka. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
