LEONARD “LENNY” LUMB 

      Leonard L. “Lenny” Lumb, age 54, of Palatka, died suddenly Monday October 12, 2009 at his home from natural causes.  He was a native and life-long resident of Palatka and a member of First Assembly of God, pastored by Ted Stackpole.  He had worked for 28 years in the shipping & vital supplies department at Georgia Pacific.  He loved playing golf and fishing and was a 1973 graduate of Palatka South High School where he played on the Palatka South baseball team for 4 years. 

     He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mary Lumb of Palatka; daughter, Regina Owens & husband, Teddy of Brooksville, Florida; son; Chief Petty Officer Steven Black, USN, & wife, Susan of Chesapeake, Virginia; sister, Alice Hunt & husband, Bunky of Baltimore, Maryland and 2 grandchildren, Brandon Owens and Mariah Owens, both of Brooksville.

     Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday October 16th at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Ted Stackpole officiating.  In celebration of his life a memorial video will be shown.  Friends may call Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.

Rest in Peace Lenny. I have many memories of growing up in Palatka and playing Little League Baseball with Lenny. We were both catchers.......Even if Lenny's team (The Elks)was not playing...he was almost certainly at the ball park anyways. I am sorry for your loss and you will be in my prayers.
