RUBY A. BAILEY

Ruby Anderson Bailey slipped quietly away September 2, 2009 at Putnam Community medical Center in Palatka, FL.  She was born November 2, 1923 to Howard and Bertha Allen in West Franklin, PA.  In 1939, she married Raymond Anderson and they began raising their family of five children on a farm in Granville Summit, PA.  She had a tremendous work ethic, being a farmer’s wife and simultaneously working in many factories until finally settling in at Sylvania Electric where she completed over 25 years of service.  After the passing of Raymond, she married Harry Bailey, retired and moved to Florida.  They enjoyed many years of an easier life traveling, camping and taking part in VFW activities.  Throughout her life, Ruby collected a multitude of family and friends which she considered to be “the finer things in life.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Knapp, her first husband, Raymond Anderson, her second husband, Harry ‘Bill” Bailey, sons, James Anderson and Robert Anderson, daughter, Raeann Schaad and a son-in-law, Jack Sick.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Fedorchak and husband, John, Nancy Sick, a daughter-in-law, Janice Kellogg, step-sons, Harry Bailey, Jr., Tim Bailey and wife, Betty, step-daughter, Sherry Donovan, 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Burial of cremated remains will be at the Franklin Center Cemetery in West Franklin, PA with a memorial service at the convenience of the family.
