John Emmet Spillers, Jr.
John Emmet Spillers,
Jr., 82, of
East Palatka, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 at his
home following a short illness. A native of Hickman, Kentucky,
Mr. Spillers resided in
Putnam County since 1999 coming from
New Port Richey.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of
World War II.
He retired as a commercial airlines pilot with Eastern
Airlines. He was a member of the
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Palatka. As his
hobbies, he was an amateur photographer, an avid RV enthusiast
and enjoyed working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife
of 63 years, Jean L. Spillers, 3 sons, John E. Spillers, III and
his wife, Sharon of Palatka, Dennis Spillers and wife Geri of
Merritt Island and Randy Spillers and wife Suzanne of Jupiter, a
daughter, Pamela Casey and husband Dennis of
McLean, VA, a brother, Bill Spillers of New Port Richey,
a sister, Betty Jean Bradley of Kentucky, 4 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren.
Memorial services
will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s
Witness in Palatka.
In lieu of flowers, the
family requests memorial donations be made to Haven Hospice
Roberts Care Center,
6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177 or to the Kingdom
Hall of Jehovah’s Witness,
201 Mission Rd., Palatka, FL 32177.
