NAOMI ELLEN LEE OWEN
Naomi Ellen Lee Owen, age 70, of
Hastings, passed peacefully Sunday June 21, 2009 at Sylva’s Hospice
House in Ocala after a valiant and courageous 5 year battle with
cancer. She was born October 27, 1938, the 4th of 8
children to Edward Odell Lee and Clarice Lee Cruse in Flagler
County. She had resided in Hasting, Florida all of her life, was a
1956 graduate of Hastings High School and a lifetime member of
Christ United Methodist Church in Hastings. A bookkeeper for over
30 years, Ellen was an avid Florida Gator and Atlanta Braves fan.
The team she cheered loudest for were those her grandchildren
participated in, especially the Menendez Falcons and the Flagler
Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarice and
Edward Odell Lee, a brother, Jack Lee and her niece, Julia Kay Lee.
She is survived by her son, Chuck Owen &
wife, Melissa of St. Augustine; daughters, Kelly Owen McCall of
Ocala and Shelly Owen Heatherdale & husband, Scott of Salt Springs;
The joys of her life, her grandchildren, Jana, Charlsea Rae, Lee and
Ivy Lyn Owen, all of St. Augustine, Jefferson & Annie McCall of
Ocala and Maranda Heatherdale of Salt Springs; sisters, Patricia
Johnson of Palatka and Frances Nell Moore of Ashford, Alabama;
brothers, Meek Lee & wife, Fran of Palatka, Bill Lee & wife, Maureen
of St. Augustine, Tommy Lee & wife, Sharon of Hastings and Joe Lee &
wife, Pam of Satsuma; sister-in-law, Charlene Lee of East Palatka
and 15 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M.
Wednesday June 24th at the Christ United Methodist Church
in Hastings with Pastor Greg Grant officiating. Burial will follow
in Oak Hill Cemetery in Palatka. Calling hours will be held Tuesday
from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in
Palatka. In celebration of her life a memorial video will be
shown. Memorial donations can be made to: Hospice of Marion County,

To the family of Mrs. Owen (Kelly & Shelly) I aam so

To the entire family .. I am so sorry to hear about
Ellen. She was a wonderful lady and will be greatly
missed. Know that she is in a much better place now, she is
not in pain and she is in heaven watching over each of you.

She was such a dear lady and it was obvious the love she had
