FREDRICK J. RHODES Fredrick J. “Big Fred” Rhodes, age 68, of Satsuma, died Saturday May 30, 2009 at his home. He was a native of Hawthorne, New Jersey and had lived in Satsuma and San Mateo since the 1970’s, coming from New Jersey. He worked for several years as a mining company supervisor and was an avoid Gator fan. He loved NASCAR, enjoyed traveling and was a fan of the New York Giants. He is survived by his son, Fred J. Rhodes, Jr. of East Palatka; daughter, Debbie Bellar of Satsuma; grandchild, Tyler Bellar of Satsuma; precious neighbor, Monika Harper of Satsuma; beloved cousins, Joan Rivers of St. Augustine and Jack Pearson of Jacksonville along with many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday June 3rd at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Preacher Mike Gulledge officiating. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens with the U.S. Army conducting military honors. In celebration of his life, a memorial video will be shown. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2:30 – 3:00 P.M. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
