HAZEL B. YOUNG 

   Hazel B. Young, age 73 of Palatka, passed away, Friday, May 1, 2009 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness.  A native of Griffin, GA, she had lived in Palatka for the past 60 years coming from Griffin.  She worked for 29 years with Georgia Pacific in the bag factory.  Hazel enjoyed painting, fishing, camping and cooking.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gene A. Young, Sr., a son, Gene A. Young, Jr. of Orange Park, 3 daughters, Miriam Golder of St. Augustine, Gail Mahan and husband, Steven of Palatka, Wanda Smith and husband, Gerald of The Woodlands, Texas, 7 grandchildren, Stephanie Lawson, Sandra Smith, Christy Golder, Justin Young, Jessica Wilkinson, Lynn Marie Smith, Holly Smith and 12 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Palatka Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Tom Miller officiating. 

Flowers are gratefully accepted or memorial donations may be made to Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, FL, 32177.
