MICHAEL W. BROWN 

   Michael W. Brown, age 69, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2009.  He was born in Palatka on February 17, 1940.  He graduated from Palatka High School in 1958.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany most of his enlistment.  Michael loved languages and spoke German and Spanish fluently.  He worked for Marine Fueling in Port Arthur, Texas for over 20 years and used the languages frequently.  He never met a stranger and was everyone’s friend. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Lissie Johns Brown and sisters, Shirley Tennant, Barbara Fields, Marilyn Soben and Catherine Brown.

He is survived by sisters, Joan Moran of Folkston, GA, Sandra Beckham and husband, Ralph, of Naylor, GA, brother, Steven Brown and wife, Tina of Lake City,  aunts, Florence Ellis, Hilda Devane both of Palatka, special cousins, Paul and Annette Green, Mark and Martha Stites, Tessie Johns and many more cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.

At Michael’s request no services are planned and his ashes are to be buried next to his father, Wilford Brown in Oak Hill Cemetery in Palatka.
