JOHN CLAYTON PRESCOTT John Clayton Prescott, age 65, of Palatka, died Friday March 13, 2009 at the V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville. He was a native of Hodge, Louisiana and a life-long resident of Putnam County. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Roy Road Hunting Club. He was an active member of Grace Community Baptist Church and in his younger days a member of the San Mateo Presbyterian Church. He had worked for several years as an electrician with Summerville Electric Co. and he loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Prescott and his father, Clayton Prescott. He is survived by his children, Clay Prescott & wife, Melissa, Emily Ortiz & husband, Elliott, all of East Palatka, Erin Huerta & husband, Dario of Palatka, and John Prescott and Wayne Prescott; mother, Mary Prescott of San Mateo; sisters, Helen Preston and Miriam Donohoo & husband, Jim, all of San Mateo; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday March 17th at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Rev. Tommy Combs officiating. The U.S. Air Force will conduct military honors. Burial will follow in San Mateo Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
